Claire is Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years experience working in NHS, Private clinics and Occupational health settings-her specialist area is within musculoskeletal conditions and well-being. She worked with the England Fell Runners Association Physiotherapist and is passionate about the management and prevention of sports injuries.
Claire has always had an interest holistic therapies and studied Aromatherapy and Advanced Aromatherapy after qualifying as a Physiotherapist. Claire had the opportunity to use these alternative modalities in a private hospital supporting a multitude of conditions including cancer patients, menopausal ladies, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis, soft tissue swelling and other stress driven conditions.
Claire studied Acupuncture for Pain Relief early on in her career and has continued to develop and use these skills, having a specialist training and experience in headaches and migraine treatments.
In 2000, Claire began practising Yoga and and instantly recognised the benefits for body and mind and the effects of Yoga on the fascial system-Claire went on to train in Dru Yoga in 2015 and now focuses on Yoga for Back Care, adding Yin Yoga, Kids and Teens Yoga and Baby Yoga to her repertoire.
"My passion is to empower my patients to feel confident to exercise in whatever form motivates them. The body is an amazing system and given the correct input it will heal and work at its optimum. My assessment will take into account the whole picture to ensure that we achieve the very best outcome for each individual."
Emma Wood has worked as a sport massage therapist for over 17 years. Initially training with Bruce Craven- the Castleford Tigers condition coach in 2002. Emma has worked along side Chartered Physiotherapists throughout her career, receiving referrals from her colleagues to ensure that her clients receive the most appropriate treatment-supporting her clients in injury management and prevention.
Her clients include athletes, power lifters, triathletes, dancers, swimmers cyclists who she treats and advises to keep them active.
'I have developed my own skill set over the years through ongoing training. I work with many systems of the body utilising fascia release, Cupping, Gua Sha techniques and trigger point release. I take pride in my work and love the interaction it brings with my patients.'
